Enterprise coherence
Enterprises have no single brain, yet they must make decisions and act to realize their purpose. Their intelligence resides a vast cognitive fabric that encompasses people, technology, data, authority, AI, and more. That machinery creates extraordinary capability and characteristic blindness at the same time.
This branch traces how enterprise cognition works, why it’s so stupid sometimes, and how it can be improved for value capture.
Industrial base coherence
The American industrial base faces many of the same systemic challenges as a large company, such as fragmentation, emergence, propagation, and configuration dependence. But unlike a company, it has no enterprise-wide authority to align its participants or compel investment. Industrial capacity depends not only on how those participants fit together, but on whether their separate incentives, financing, and obligations can support coordinated commitments.
